Strength
Strength is my photograph of a Western Lowland Gorilla.
The story behind:
Gorilla numbers have been decimated in the wild by hunters and habitat destruction. There are only around 95,000 Western lowland gorillas in the wild and their numbers are in rapid decline.
This photograph was taken in Howletts Wild Animal Park in Kent. I was kindly invited down to the park for a complimentary fundraisers day to celebrate raising £1,567.77 for great ape conservation.
To coax kind donations I jogged a total of 14 events, notably the final month consisted of four events across four weekends, The Great North Run (half marathon), Ladybower 50 miler, Chester Marathon and finishing off with York Marathon.
